Under Tex. Gov't Code § 2306.935, when a migrant labor housing facility operator receives a complaint notice under § 2306.934, the operator generally has seven days to fix the problem. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (the department) is required to create a process allowing operators to document that a complaint has been resolved using visual evidence and a sworn affidavit. If an operator does not submit that proof, or falls under the circumstances described in § 2306.934(e), the department must arrange an on-site inspection after the seven-day window to verify whether the issue was actually corrected.

Operators of migrant labor housing facilities subject to Tex. Gov't Code § 2306.935 are generally expected to act quickly upon receiving a complaint notice—remediation must occur within seven days of that notice. Compliant operators typically document their corrective actions through the department's established procedure, which involves submitting visual evidence and a sworn affidavit as proof of remediation. Operators who do not follow that submission process, or who fall under § 2306.934(e), should expect the department to schedule an inspection to verify that the complaint was addressed.
