Operators acquiring a licensed mobile home park, recreational vehicle park, or campground in North Dakota should be aware that § 23-10-06.2 allows the license to transfer without a fee, provided a written application is submitted to the department within thirty days of the sale closing. The application must include a certification that the facility will be run in accordance with the governing chapter. Compliant operators typically track the sale date carefully and prepare the transfer paperwork in advance to meet the thirty-day window.

For residents of mobile home parks, recreational vehicle parks, or campgrounds in North Dakota, § 23-10-06.2 provides that a facility's operating license can carry over to a new owner after a sale, helping to ensure the property remains properly licensed during ownership changes. If a new owner fails to obtain a timely license transfer, residents may have grounds to raise a licensing compliance concern with the relevant state department. Tenant-rights organizations familiar with North Dakota housing law can help residents understand what options are generally available when a facility's licensure status is in question.
