Cal. Civ. Code § 37.111.1232
37.111.1232 INSPECTIONS AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
Operative Text
(1) In accordance with 50-52-303 , MCA, a licensee shall allow the local regulatory authority to perform inspections at reasonable hours for determining compliance with this subchapter. (2) Whenever an inspection is made to determine compliance with this subchapter, the findings must be recorded on an inspection form approved by the department. Within 15 days after each inspection, the local regulatory authority shall give the owner or operator a copy of the inspection report. (3) If the regulatory authority determines that one or more violations exist, the inspection form must designate the administrative rule(s) that have been violated, the observed basis of the violations(s), any required corrective action, and the date by which the correction must be implemented. (4) If plans for correction are required, the licensee shall submit necessary plans to the local regulatory authority that include a proposed time schedule for corrective measures. The time schedule and plans, if approved, shall become conditions of licensure.
Mont. Admin. R. 37.111.1232 establishes that licensed facilities must permit inspections by local regulatory authorities at reasonable hours to verify compliance. Inspection findings are documented on a department-approved form, and the owner or operator must receive a copy within 15 days. When violations are found, the report must identify the specific rules violated, the observed basis, required corrections, and the deadline for those corrections.
Plain English — not legal advice.
Under Mont. Admin. R. 37.111.1232, compliant operators grant access to local regulatory authorities during reasonable hours and maintain readiness for documented inspections. When a violation is cited, operators typically review the inspection report carefully, address each identified deficiency by the stated deadline, and submit a written correction plan with a proposed schedule if one is required. Plans and schedules that receive regulatory approval become binding conditions of the license.

Mont. Admin. R. 37.111.1232 governs how inspections of licensed facilities are conducted and documented, which can be relevant to residents or occupants who have concerns about habitability or code compliance. If an inspection has occurred, the owner or operator is entitled to a copy of the report within 15 days, and that report should identify any violations and required corrections. Individuals with concerns about whether a facility is meeting its compliance obligations may contact the local regulatory authority or a tenant-rights organization to understand available options.
