Cal. Civ. Code § 6-808
Md. Code Ann., Environment Art. Title 6, Subtitle 8 — Lead Poisoning Prevention Program
Operative Text
(a) The Commission shall meet at least quarterly at the times and places it determines. (b) From among the members, the Governor shall appoint the Chairman of the Commission. (c) (1) A majority of the members then serving on the Commission constitutes a quorum. (2) The Commission may act upon a majority vote of the quorum. (d) A member of the Commission: (1) May not receive compensation; but (2) Is entitled to reimbursement from the Fund for reasonable travel expenses related to attending meetings and other Commission events in accordance with the Standard State Travel Regulations.
Under Md. Code Ann., Env. §§ 6-801 to 6-852 § 6-808, this provision establishes the basic operating rules for the Commission responsible for overseeing Maryland's lead-paint regulatory framework. The Commission must convene at least four times per year, requires a majority of sitting members to conduct business, and can take official action by a majority vote of that quorum. Members serve without pay but may be reimbursed from the Fund for reasonable travel costs when attending meetings or other Commission events.

Property owners and managers subject to Maryland's lead-paint laws under Md. Code Ann., Env. §§ 6-801 to 6-852 § 6-808 should be aware that the Commission overseeing these regulations operates on a structured, publicly accountable schedule. Compliant operators generally stay informed of Commission meeting schedules, since decisions affecting lead-paint rules and enforcement can be made at any quarterly or specially called session. Tracking Commission activity can help property managers anticipate regulatory changes that may affect their compliance obligations.

Tenants concerned about lead-paint conditions in their homes may find it useful to know that the Commission governing Maryland's lead-paint program operates under the procedural rules set out in Md. Code Ann., Env. §§ 6-801 to 6-852 § 6-808. Because the Commission meets at least quarterly and its decisions require a majority vote, tenants can monitor meeting schedules and public records to understand how regulatory policy is being shaped. Tenant-rights organizations can help residents identify how Commission decisions may relate to their rights under Maryland's broader lead-paint statutes.
