Property owners and managers involved in Kentucky landlord-tenant court proceedings should be aware that, under Ky. Rev. Stat. § 383.250, all case-related documents and records are preserved by the court clerk. Compliant operators typically retain their own copies of filings and correspondence, but this provision ensures that an official record also exists at the courthouse. Landlords who need documentation of past proceedings can request a transcript directly from the clerk.

Ky. Rev. Stat. § 383.250 gives any person the right to request a transcript of court records and proceedings related to a landlord-tenant case. This means tenants can obtain official documentation of what occurred in their case from the court clerk, which may be useful when reviewing the history of a dispute. Tenant-rights organizations can help explain how to make such a request and what the records might contain.
