Under Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. ch. 186-1 § 186-1-.01, the Commission on Equal Opportunity is the body that oversees fair employment and housing-related practices in Georgia, and its Board is specifically required to include members with backgrounds in realty, apartment management, or the building and contracting industry. Property owners and managers operating in Georgia generally stay informed about the Commission's composition and rulemaking activities, since the Administrator holds rule-making authority that can affect compliance obligations. Operators familiar with the Commission's structure are better positioned to understand how fair employment and housing rules are developed and administered at the state level.
