14 DCMR § 14-799
DEFINITIONS
Operative Text
799.1 The provisions of section 199 of Chapter 1 of this title and the definitions set forth in that section shall be applicable to this chapter.
Section 14-799 of the D.C. Municipal Regulations (D.C. Mun. Regs. tit. 14 et seq. § 14-799) is a definitional cross-reference provision. It establishes that the definitions and interpretive rules found in section 199 of Chapter 1 of Title 14 carry over and apply throughout this chapter. Rather than restating those definitions, this section incorporates them by reference, ensuring consistent terminology across the regulatory framework.
Plain English — not legal advice.
Property owners and managers operating under D.C. Mun. Regs. tit. 14 et seq. § 14-799 should be aware that the defined terms governing this chapter are not found within the chapter itself, but are instead drawn from section 199 of Chapter 1 of Title 14. Compliant operators generally familiarize themselves with those cross-referenced definitions to ensure they are interpreting their obligations correctly. Reviewing both sections together provides a complete picture of the terminology used throughout the regulatory requirements.
