Alabama Administrative Code rule 535-X-15-.06 establishes consequences for those who fail to comply with the manufactured housing regulations in Chapter 535-X-15. A violation can result in the suspension or revocation of the license authorizing a person or company to manufacture, sell, or install homes in Alabama, a fine of up to $1,000 per violation, or both penalties together. The rule also provides a formal appeal pathway, allowing a licensee to request a hearing under the procedures set out in Chapter 535-X-12-.08(2).
Plain English — not legal advice.
Property owners or managers who operate as manufacturers, sellers, or installers of manufactured homes in Alabama should be aware that non-compliance with Chapter 535-X-15 can put their license at risk under rule 535-X-15-.06. Compliant operators generally maintain current knowledge of all applicable chapter requirements, keep accurate records, and address any identified deficiencies promptly to avoid triggering enforcement action. If a violation is alleged, rule 535-X-15-.06(2) preserves the right to appeal and request a hearing through the process described in Chapter 535-X-12-.08(2).
