For Property Managers

Under ch. 370 § 370-2, compliant operators of multiple dwellings in Port Jervis post and keep current a legible notice in a conspicuous common area of the building that includes the owner's and managing agent's names, residence and business addresses, and telephone numbers. When ownership is held by a corporation, the notice must additionally identify each corporate officer by name, address, and phone number, along with the corporation's own contact details. Operators generally review this posting whenever ownership, management, or contact information changes to ensure the notice remains accurate and visible.

For Tenants

Section 370-2 of the Port Jervis Code gives residents of multiple dwellings the ability to identify their building's owner, managing agent, and—where applicable—corporate officers simply by checking the required posted notice in a common area. If no such notice is posted or the information appears outdated or illegible, that may constitute a violation of ch. 370 § 370-2. Tenants who cannot locate the required posting may consider contacting the Port Jervis city offices or a local tenant-rights organization to understand what options are available.
