Property owners and managers operating under Oneida, N.Y., Code of Ordinances ch. 77 § 77-74 generally ensure that all fuel-burning appliances are connected to the correct type of venting system before tenants occupy a unit. Compliant operators remove or replace any unvented liquid-fuel heaters, verify that space heaters in bedrooms or closed rooms are properly connected to a chimney, flue, or gas vent, and assess gas-fired equipment to confirm combustion gases are safely discharged.
