For Property Managers

Property owners and managers in Newburgh should be aware that under § 190-38, the head of the code enforcement agency has a duty to direct the Building Inspector to compel repair or removal of any building or structure deemed a danger to public health, safety, or welfare. Compliant operators generally maintain their properties in a condition that avoids triggering this determination, keeping structures sound, safe, and in conformance with applicable building standards. When a property receives notice of a dangerous condition, operators typically engage promptly with the Building Inspector and take corrective action in accordance with the procedures set out in Chapter 129, Article IV of the Newburgh Code.
