Plain English

Under Kingston, N.Y., Code of Ordinances ch. 332 § 332-11, the Building Department has the authority to revoke or suspend a rental permit if it determines that the permit's conditions or the article's requirements have been violated, or that the property is not being maintained in compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations. Before any revocation or suspension takes effect, the property owner must receive notice and a chance to be heard. This procedural safeguard ensures that permit actions are not taken without the owner having an opportunity to respond to the findings.
