Plain English — not legal advice.
Under § 139-5, the Fair Housing Office is the designated city body that oversees compliance with Glen Cove's fair housing chapter, meaning property owners and managers operating in Glen Cove interact with this office on fair housing matters. Compliant operators generally familiarize themselves with the office's role and maintain practices that align with the chapter it administers. Knowing that the fair housing officer is a mayoral appointee can help operators understand the appropriate point of contact for questions or formal proceedings under this chapter.
