Under § 475-60.8, compliant rental property operators ensure that all driveway surfaces—including the apron extending into the public right-of-way—consist of an approved material such as asphalt, concrete, brick, decorative pavers, grid pavers, crushed stone, or recycled asphalt. Operators typically obtain the required construction specifications from the Commissioner of Public Works before breaking ground, either by visiting the City Code Department or consulting the city's website. Maintaining documentation of those specifications and the materials used can support a showing of compliance with this provision.
