For Property Managers

Under Cohoes, N.Y., Code of Ordinances ch. 215 § 215-18, compliant property operators routinely inspect load-bearing elements, foundations, and structural members for signs of settlement, deformation, or deterioration. Operators generally address moisture intrusion, corrosion, and freeze-thaw damage promptly and maintain waterproofing systems in buildings situated on water-bearing soil to keep habitable below-grade spaces dry. Keeping documented records of inspections and repairs is a common practice among operators who demonstrate ongoing compliance with these structural maintenance requirements.
