Such openings shall be covered with corrosion-resistant wire mesh not less than one-fourth inch nor more than one-half inch in any dimension or a corrosion-resistant louver. (d) Skirting for trailers, travel trailers , or recreational trailers shall not be required provided the trailer, travel trailer, or recreational trailer is not used for year-round living or is not parked on said space for more than ninety consecutive days. Lincoln Municipal Code § 21.56.065 requires that all mobile homes and trailers placed in a licensed court be fitted with skirting within sixty days of placement. The skirting must meet specific structural standards, including wind resistance of fifteen pounds per square foot, accessible panels for utility connections, and ventilation openings covered with corrosion-resistant mesh or louvers. Travel trailers, recreational trailers, and trailers not used for year-round living or parked fewer than ninety consecutive days are exempt from this requirement.
Plain English — not legal advice.
Operators of licensed mobile home courts in Lincoln must ensure that skirting is installed on each mobile home or trailer within sixty days of placement, as required by § 21.56.065. Compliant operators generally verify that skirting is secured at both top and bottom to meet the fifteen-pounds-per-square-foot wind resistance standard, includes accessible panels at all utility connection points, and provides at least two ventilation openings of no less than fifty square inches each covered with approved mesh or louvers. Operators should also track the length of stay for travel trailers and recreational trailers to determine whether the exemption for units parked fewer than ninety consecutive days or not used year-round applies.
