Under Bellevue, Neb., Code of Ordinances ch. 15, art. IV § 15-96, any dwelling that is moved to a new lot, relocated on the same lot, or subjected to structural remodeling or alteration must be brought into full compliance with all current dwelling standards applicable to newly erected or modified structures. The provision defines 'remodeled or altered' as any structural change to the building. Additionally, no dwelling may be moved to a new lot or location without a certification from the Permits and Inspections Department confirming the structure is safe and sanitary.

Property owners and managers operating under § 15-96 of the Bellevue Code generally ensure that any structural change, relocation, or move of a dwelling triggers a full compliance review against current dwelling standards. Before moving a dwelling to a new lot or site, compliant operators obtain the required safety and sanitary certification from the Bellevue Permits and Inspections Department. Keeping documentation of all permits, inspections, and certifications related to structural work is a common practice for operators seeking to demonstrate compliance with this provision.

Section 15-96 of the Bellevue Code provides that dwellings moved or structurally altered must meet current housing standards and, when relocated to a new lot, must be certified as safe and sanitary by the Permits and Inspections Department. Tenants who believe a moved or structurally altered dwelling does not meet these standards may consider contacting the Bellevue Permits and Inspections Department to inquire about the dwelling's compliance status. Tenant-rights organizations and legal aid services can help residents understand what options may be available when a dwelling appears to fall short of the requirements established under this provision.
