Section 15.76.060 of Melrose Park's Condominium Conversions chapter establishes a formal appeal process for decisions made by the director of public works under this chapter. Any such decision may be challenged before the planning zoning board of appeals, but the party filing the appeal bears the burden of proving that the director's action or interpretation of village code was clearly erroneous. All decisions and reports at every stage must be issued in writing and delivered to the relevant parties by mail, and by physical delivery if a village address is provided. The planning zoning board of appeals issues the final and binding determination on any appeal brought under § 15.76.060.

Compliant operators generally track the date of any written memorandum of action, since appeals must be filed in writing with the village clerk within ten business days of that issuance. Operators typically maintain current mailing addresses on file with the village to ensure timely receipt of all reports and decisions as required by this section.
