Clarendon Hills — Ch. 27 Fair Housing § 27.7
HEARING REPORTS
Operative Text
At the conclusion of any hearing under Section 27.6 of this Chapter, the Human Relations Board shall file with the Board of Trustees and shall mail to all parties directly concerned, a written report of its findings and conclusions. That report shall include its recommendation, if any, regarding initiation of appropriate court action against any person found to have committed an unfair real estate practice. (1992 Code)
Under Clarendon Hills Ch. 27 Fair Housing § 27.7, once the Human Relations Board completes a hearing held pursuant to Section 27.6, it is required to produce a written report documenting its findings and conclusions. This report must be filed with the Board of Trustees and mailed to all directly concerned parties. If the Board finds that an unfair real estate practice occurred, the report may also include a recommendation about whether to pursue court action against the responsible party.
Plain English — not legal advice.
Property owners and managers subject to a Section 27.6 hearing should be aware that § 27.7 requires the Human Relations Board to formally document and distribute its findings after the hearing concludes. A compliant operator generally maintains records of all correspondence received from the Board, including any written report mailed to them as a directly concerned party. If the report includes a recommendation for court action, that signals a potential escalation beyond the administrative process, and operators in that position typically consult legal counsel to understand next steps.

Section 27.7 of Clarendon Hills Ch. 27 Fair Housing gives tenants and other directly concerned parties the right to receive a written copy of the Human Relations Board's findings and conclusions after a Section 27.6 hearing. If the Board determines that an unfair real estate practice took place, its report may recommend that court action be initiated against the responsible party. Tenants who believe their rights under this chapter have been violated may consider contacting a local tenant-rights organization or legal aid office to understand how the hearing and reporting process under § 27.7 could apply to their situation.
