Waterbury, Conn., Code of Ordinances ch. 154 § 154.085
REQUIREMENTS IN ADDITION TO CHAPTER (Waterbury Housing Code)
Operative Text
The following responsibilities of owners and occupants are in addition to those specified elsewhere throughout this chapter. (1967 Code, § 9-48)
Section 154.085 of the Waterbury, Connecticut Code of Ordinances establishes that the responsibilities outlined in this chapter are cumulative rather than exclusive. Any duties placed on owners or occupants by other parts of Chapter 154 remain fully in effect alongside whatever additional obligations this chapter introduces. In other words, no single provision of the chapter displaces or limits any other.
Plain English — not legal advice.
Under Waterbury Code § 154.085, property owners and managers should understand that compliance with one section of Chapter 154 does not satisfy or waive obligations found elsewhere in the chapter. Compliant operators generally review the chapter as a whole, treating each requirement as additive to the others. Familiarity with the full scope of Chapter 154 is part of responsible property management in Waterbury.

Section 154.085 of the Waterbury Code makes clear that tenant protections and owner responsibilities throughout Chapter 154 are meant to work together, not to cancel each other out. If an owner appears to be meeting one requirement while neglecting another, this provision confirms that all obligations in the chapter apply simultaneously. Tenants who believe multiple code requirements are being violated may wish to contact the relevant Waterbury municipal authority or a local tenant-rights organization to understand the full range of applicable rules.
