Hartford, Conn., Mun. Code ch. 18 § 18-125 provides property owners who have filed an appeal petition with a mechanism to seek a temporary halt to an enforcement order before the hearing takes place. A compliant operator generally submits a written stay request to the director of licenses and inspections within the same timeframe allowed for filing the petition, and includes a concise explanation of why good cause supports pausing the order. Keeping records of all correspondence with the director and the hearing officer is a practice commonly associated with managing these proceedings effectively.
